My name is Woody Underwood and I am a Life Scout in B.S.A. Troop 30, in Plainville, CT. As many of you may be aware, Boy Scouts must complete a service project, more commonly known as an "Eagle Project" in order to obtain the highest rank in Boy Scouting, Eagle. I have been planning an Eagle Project at the Plainville United Methodist Church. I will be creating a peace garden for meditation and church beautification.

The garden will feature a peace pole, which is an eight foot high, six-sided red cedar pole with the words "May Peace Prevail on Earth" inscribed on each side in a different language. The purpose of the garden and pole is to promote peace in our often turbulent world.

For all the details about the project, take a look at the proposal under the "Proposal" section by using the link above. For pictures of the site and the work that has taken place, check out the "Pictures" section.

Once again, thank you for your support.
